Training at home

Addressing each family’s health issues means understanding the individual challenges they face in creating a healthy home environment. For some this may be a lack of sanitation, for others livestock fouling where infants crawl, or the risk posed to children by a cooking fire on the floor.

Narú staff travel mainly by motorbike on dirt roads – and then on mountain paths by foot - to make these visits. After an update on the children’s weight and health, we monitor how the family is managing to implement all they have learned at their Narú site or mobile clinic.

Encouragement and guidance are always forthcoming, as is additional support through sponsorship if the family is in need of specialised medical care or emergency relief.
