What defines our aproach?

Narú means “can do” in Q’eqchi’, and empowerment is at the very heart of our work.

As families are helped to recuperate their children from malnutrition at home, they learn how to take control of its many causes through education and training. Throughout this process we are committed to using only resources that the families themselves can access – renewable and cost-free wherever possible.

Food production is organic and we always seek natural alternatives to costly medicines for common ailments that can drain a family’s resources. Above all, we relate to families in their own language, respecting the cultural traditions that surround health and agriculture, while teaching how they can be combined with conventional practices where appropriate.
