In places as remote as La Montañesa, getting to the market to sell and buy can be very complicated with the rains.


This is what a typical market day looks like in La Montañesa, Senahú, where some of our families travel to sell and buy products and food for the family. Lately the rains have made access by vehicles difficult, so most of the products are transported by foot. If families can't sell what they grow, the produce will spoil and children will go without. In these circumstances, wading across rivers is not a choice but a necessity.
